Sergeant Percival Cockington 407707 RAAF and Sergeant Tom Ellis Exell 401305 RAAF were killed when Marauder FK367 of 14 Squadron RAF was shot down into the sea sea off Benghazi in Libya - their bodies were not recovered and they are commemorated on the Alamein Memorial
Also killed were Sergeant Ralph Isaac Ploskin 1186052 RAF and Sergeant Alan Edwin Watts 1301739 RAF
Sergeant Leonard Alexander Einsaar DFM 407318 RAAF / Sergeant Willcocks 1183698 RAF / Sergeant Dixon 590714 RAF all survived after being picked up by a British Torpedo Boat
