Leading Aircraftman Herbert Henry Hall (Service No:152955) enlisted in the RAAF on 16 May 1944 at No 5 Recruiting Station Adelaide as an Aircraftman I - mustered as Guard. LAC Hall served in Papua New Guinea - 19 November 1944 at Milne Bay with 33 Squadron, 16 January 1945 in Lae with 33 Squadron, and 6 August 1945 at Middleburgh Island with 315 Radar Station. LAC Hall was attached to Gawler Telecommunication Unit at Discharge on 4 June 1946.
Herb was born in Medindie, Adelaide, South Australia in 1925 to Herbert Henry Hall Snr (b1890 in Magill, South Australia) and Bessie Carter (b1887 in Orroroo, South Australia) - Bessie was working in Prospect as a Domestic. Herbert and Bessie married in Hindmarsh in 1914, and settled in Prospect, where they raised their family - Herbert held a Marine Store Collector's Licence.
Herb was a 'Youth Worker' - Labourer - with SA Government Railways in 1944 when he enlisted in the RAAF. In 1947 in Adelaide he married Joyce Emily Reid (b1919 in Medindie, Adelaide, South Australia). Herb and Joyce settled in Loxton, where theyr aised their family. Herb died in 1980 and Joyce died in 1984.
