LATE MR. TOM OLSEN WAS
A MEMBER OF THE RAAF
Mr.- Thomas Robert Olsen, youngest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Olsen of Balaklava, who passed away at the Daws Road Repatriation Hospital on Monday morning was a former member of the RAAF. He joined the service about 1943 and after training at Sale was posted to Darwin as stores assistant, and when the attack on Balik Papan was planned he moved with 369 Squadron to this theatre of war.
On discharge he was employed as a painter and decorator.
He had been under treatment at the Repatriation Hospital for some time but seemed a great deal improved in recent months. The decision to undergo the operation performed last Thursday was made because it promised better health in future years.
The late Mr. Olsen who was 24 years of age was married only four months ago.
Four brothers—Jack, William, Harry and Cliff—carried the casket to the graveside at Centennial Park cemetery where the private burial service was conducted by the Rev. J. H. Peters.
