Born in 1879 to Sarah (née Solomon) and Robert Lipman in Newcastle, Abram (aka Augustus) Solomon Lipman married Cicely Phillips in 1903, Muswellbrook. 

Augustus served in WW1 as a Driver, enlisting 22nd September 1916 and discharging 27th November 1919.

He had previously been the licensee of the Shamrock Hotel in Muswellbrook and was a commercial traveller around the NSW Central West when he passed away, a widower.

City of Orange RSL Sub Branch on Sunday 23rd March 2025, took part in Operation Jacob in conjunction with the NSW Association of Jewish Service and Ex-Service Men and Women (NAJEX) and the Howarth Foundation, for the Commemoration and Consetration of the Newly awarded Commonwealth War Grave of 13266 Driver Augustus Solomon Lipman who previously lay in an unmarked grave at Orange Cemetery. The Service was conducted by Captain (Chaplain) Rabbanit Judith Levitan Australian Army Reserve HQ 2 Div.
