Leading Aircraftman Brian Lindsay Joraslafsky (Service No:121988) enlisted in the RAAF on 29 December 1942 as an Aircraftman I at No 5 Recruiting Centre Adelaide - mustered as Trainee Technical and remustered as Flight Rigger then Fitter. Promoted to Leading Aircraftman, he served with RAAF Service Police Unit and 37 Squadron. LAC Joraslafsky was Discharged on 1 April 1946, re-enlisting on 26 November 1946 and serving with RAAF Stations Laverton and Malalla, and Communication Flight (Governor General) Canberra before Discharge on 11 December 1947.
Brian was born in Adelaide, South Australia in 1924, eldest child of Lindsay Joseph Joraslafsky (aka Lafsky; b1898 in Kooringa via Burra, South Australia) and Rose Catherine Rouse (b1890 in Cossack, Western Australia). Lindsay served in WWI (Private; Service No:3273) and was a Carpenter in Adelaide in 1923 when he and Rose married. Lindsay and Rose settled in Adelaide, where they raised their family and Lindsay worked as a Carpenter and Joiner. Lindsay also served in WWII (ACMF).
Brian was a Butcher in 1942 when he enlisted in the RAAF. Following his Discharge in 1947, Brian was a Salesman in Wagga Wagga, NSW in 1952 when he married Doreen (Billie) Power (b1920 in Wagga Wagga, NSW) - Billie was a Saleswoman in Wagga Wagga. Brian and Billie settled in Sydney, where they raised their family and Brian was a Salesman and Sales Manager. Brian died in 1994 and Billie in 2013.
