Son of Robert Osmand and Mary Brown Osmand nee Boyd of Lavington via Albury, NSW.
Brother of Norman Hugh Osmand DCM who returned to Australia on 17 February 1919 having served with the 1st Battalion.
Commenced return to Australia on 19 February 1919 aboard HT Orca disembarking on 31 March 1919 at Melbourne for discharged.
