Alexander Herman REX 115348 LAC RAAF joined the RSL in 1946 he was a life subcriber. As a member of the Saddleworth sub branch he served as a committee man in 1967 to 70, as the secretary 1947 to 1966 and also taking on the roll as treasury for 1950 to 52. He was a hospital visitor of returned services members for many years. Was responsible for organising the entertainment for the New Zealand delegation visit in (1948c). He visited New Zealand with the South Australian Delegation in 1951. He served as a delegate to the Country (Mild North ) Conference 1946 to 67, and at the State Sub Branch Conference. Saddleworth had a branch of the Legion of Ex-Servicemen and Women for 8 years and Alexander was president for the entire period.
He was involved with the local sporting bodies had a keen interest in football for over 40 years. He worked for the Saddleworth Show organising the Horses in Action. Alexander was and active towns' man all his life. He was awarded a Life Membership of the RSL 1970.
