Aircraftwoman Jean Phyllis Daniell (Service No:114741) served in the WRAAF from 28 February 1945 to 26 November 1945 - mustered as Sick Quarter Attendant. ACW Daniell was attached to 2 Operational Training Unit Mildura at Discharge.
Jean was born at Henley Beach, Adelaide, South Australia in 1924, youngest of two children of Thomas Ferguson Daniell (b1894 in Adelaide, South Australia) and his first wife Gladys Adelaide Chick (b1896 in Adelaide, South Australia). Thomas (a Newspaper Representative) and Gladys married in 1921 in Adelaide, where they settled and raised their family until their Divorce in 1940. Thomas remarried in 1941, served in the ACMF, and worked as an Advertising Manager in Adelaide.
Jean was a Nurse in Adelaide in 1944 and, following her Discharge from the WRAAF, in 1945 in Adelaide, married Peter Reginald Darlington (b1915 at Baffle Creek via Bundaberg, QLD) - Peter was a Sergeant in the AIF. Jean and Peter settled in Adelaide, where they raised their family. In the early 1990s Jean and Peter were living in Brisbane, QLD where Peter died in 1993 and Jean in 2003.
