Aircraftwoman Sylvia Florence Vizer (Service No:107298) enlisted in the WAAAF on 26 October 1942 at No 5 Recruiting Centre Adelaide as an Aircraftwoman I - mustered as Office Orderly and re mustered as Recorder. ACW Vizer served with Nos 1 and 3 Volunteer Air Observers Corps (VAOC), and was attached to Air Defence Headquarters (ADHQ) in Brisbane at Discharge on 18 February 1946.

Sylvia was born in Adelaide, South Australia in 1920, only child of Alfred Partington (b1891 in Hindmarsh, South Australia) and his second wife Florence Catherine Casey (b1893 in Adelaide, South Australia). Alfred and Florence married in 1919 in Adelaide, where they settled and raised their family and Alfred was a Carpenter. Florence's died in 1941, and Alfred later moved to Brisbane.

Sylvia worked as a Shop Assistant in Glenelg before enlisting in the WAAAF, and in 1944 in Brisbane married Albert Porter Vizer (b1915 in Brisbane, QLD) - Albert was a Corporal in the Army. Following Discharge, Sylvia and Albert settled in Brisbane, where they raised their family and Albert worked as a Shirt Cutter until retirement. Albert died in 1984 and Sylvia in 1999.
