Leading Aircraftman Allen McClarren (Allan McLaren) Walton (Service No:81696) enlisted in the RAAF on 15 August 1942 as an Aircraftman I at No 4 Recruiting Centre Perth - mustered as General Hand then remustered as Fitter Driver Motor Transport (FDMT) Tractor Driver Diesel Duties. LAC McLaren served in New Guinea (4 January 1943 - 17 May 1943) with No 2 Mobile Works Squadron and was attached to 5 Embarkation Depot Subiaco at Discharge on 27 May 1943 ('to resume civilian occupation' NAA).

Mac was born in Barunga, South Australia in 1916, youngest of six children of Albert Henry Blyth Walton (b1886 in Blyth, South Australia) and Agnes Jean Margaret Crystal Easton Fowler (b1879 in Edinburgh, Scotland) - Agnes immigrated in 1880, arriving in Adelaide, SA on board the Soratta. Albert (a Farmer) and Agnes married in Adelaide in 1908, and lived there and in Snowtown, Barunga Gap and Percytown, where they raised their family and Albert was a Farmer. In the mid 1930s the family moved to Beverley, WA where Albert was a Farmer at Emu Hill, moving to Ardath via York in the 1940s.

Mac worked as a Farmer with his father in Beverley and Ardath via York, and in 1939 at Bruce Rock, married Rhoda Pearl Ellis (b1913 in Moonta, South Australia) - Rhoda was living in Bruce Rock. Mac and Rhoda settled at Ardath via York, where Mac was a Farmer. Mac died in 1984 and Rhoda in 2007.
