Leading Aircraftsman Noel Arnold Graham joined the Royal Australian Airforce Reserves at No 5 Recruiting Centre R.A.A.F. Adelaide and was posted to No.1 recruit training depot in Shepparton, Victoria.
By December 1942 Leading Aircraftsman Noel Graham had completed training as a Flight Rigger and was posted to Darwin into No. 31 squadron R.A.A.F.
31 squadron R.A.A.F. was critical as it serviced the beau fighters that flew out of Australia to bomb the Japanese lines in New Guinea.
The beau fighters also were responsible for bombing Japanese war ships around New Guinea. These aircraft were known as ‘Silent Death” because they were so quiet.
Leading Aircraftsman Noel Arnold Graham was honourably discharged at the end of the war with effect 12th December 1945.
Leading Aircraftsman Noel Arnold Graham passed away on the 12th of November 1984 at 61 years of age.
