Son of Mr and Mrs Clem CLELAND of West Terrrace, Torrensville.  Married with one child, Cleve resided at 104b Henley Beach Road, Mile End.  Educated at Welland Public and Thebarton Technicial Schools he was fond of sport, playing cricket and football for Port Clinton for two seasons.  Keen of mechanics and all connected with motors he followed farming and worked on Yorke Peninsula, Apilla, Kingston-on-Murray and Apsley (Vic.) He enlisted from Yorketown in September 1941.
