Charlie also went by the surname Gill-Williams, at this stage we are not sure why as his name was registered as CHARLIE WILLIAMS at birth in 1912. He worked as a Machinist before enlisting and was accepted into the airforce to train as a Mechanic. Charlie got into trouble with his superiors a few times for not obeying orders, going AWOL, and drinking. He lived on the river Mannum later in life and was a good Grandfather to his Grandchildren.
