Leading Aircraftman Reginald Henry George Gadd (Service No:26692) initially served in the Militia (Private; 27th Battalion) in 1927/1929 before enlisting in the RAAF on 4 June 1940 at No 5 Recruiting Centre Adelaide as an Aircraftman I - mustered as Trainee Technical, re mustered as Fitter. LAC Gadd was attached to 1 Aircraft Depot Laverton at Discharge on 16 January 1947.

Reg was born in London, England in 1909, eldest of two children of Henry Charles Gadd (b1885 in London, England) and Emily Mary-Ann Sparkes (b1883 in London, England). Henry worked as a Cloth Cutter and Packer in London before he and Emily married in 1907 in London, where they lived and Henry worked as a Railway Porter. In 1912 they immigrated, arriving in Adelaide on board the Ballarat, and settled in Adelaide. Henry was a Railway Porter in Mt Lofty, Adelaide Hills on 20 August 1918 when he enlisted in the AIF as a Private (Service No:15284) attached to A Coy Base Infantry, and was Discharged on 24 December 1918. Henry worked for the SAGR until retirement - as a Porter and Shunter. 

Reg completed an Apprenticeship as a Sheetmetal Worker with O'Connor & Sons Adelaide, and was working as an Oxy Welder in Hindmarsh in 1937 when he married Anne (Annie) Ferguson Wilson (b1914 in Adelaide, South Australia). Reg and Annie settled in Adelaide, and Reg was a Plumber with TJ Richards Motor Body Works in 1940 when he enlisted in the RAAF. Following his Discharge from the RAAF, Reg and Annie settled in Adelaide, where they raised their family and Reg worked as a Plumber, a Fitter and Truck Driver/Carrier. Reg died in Adelaide in 1988 and Annie died in 2003.
