He was the son of Harry Newsome Blakeley and Ann Agatha Blakeley, of Colonel Light Gardens, South Australia, husband of Jessie Blakeley, of Halifax, England, later of Dowlais, Glamorgan.

HIS DUTY FEARLESSLY AND NOBLY DONE. MAY GOD REST HIS SOUL
He was a passenger in Mosquito NF.11 DF690 which crashed at RAF Colerne, Wiltshire. The pilot, Flight Lieutenant Ernest Hamilton Griffith, Royal Australian Air Force~ Service Number 403334 also perished and he too is interred in Bath Haycombe Cemetery-Grave Row T. Grave 248.
