For his services to the RSL he recieved a League Service Award.  In 1988 he had served on the North Glenelg sub branch executive as a committee man 1974 to 77 and 1982, 84 to 86 1991,94; as Vice President 1978,1980,81, 87,89 to 93; President 1983 and Immediate Vice President 1984. For this he was awarde a Llife Membership of the RSL.
