David Hamilton Pile
Served with the AIF in the Middle East during WW2 & later in the ACMF (Reserves) from 1954-66
David was born on 8 January 1919, the son of David Hamilton Pile & Dorrit Louise Yorke Pile née Sparks (later Cudmore), and was educated at the Queen's College in North Adelaide
On 20 May 1940 at the age of 21, David, a Commercial Artist, enlisted in the AIF as SX3384 Private

On 28 September 1954 at the age of 35 (claiming to be 29 & born on 8 January 1924), and going by David Mark Hamilton-Pile, he enlisted in the ACMF as 4/20452 Sergeant
This time in his records is limited, though it appears he served with the 9th Infantry Brigade Headquarters, 1 Royal South Australian Regiment later 10 Royal South Australian Regiment (ACMF) Central Command & was granted a commission, being promoted to Lieutenant WEF 1 February 1960
David was placed upon the Central Command retired list WEF 9 January 1966
David passed away in South Australia on 24 May 1991 at the age of 72
