The details provided are taken from the book "1000 Men at War" the history of the 2nd/16th Infantry Battalion, refer to page 13. Alex was born at Walcha NSW 13th April 1898. He was a regular Army Officer before the war holding various training appointment. Alex enlisted from Adelaide, therefore the SX regimental number. He was the Commanding Officer of the 2nd/16th Inf Bn during 1941. He was attached to LHQ in 1945.
