Son of Alfred William Howard Bull and Jane Isabelle Kennedy Bull (nee Stark), of Bingara, New South Wales.

Driver Alfred Douglas Norman Bull, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. H. Bull, of Bingara. Educated at New England Grammar School, Glen Innes, and Scot's College, Rose Bay, Sydney. Enlisted in October, 1915, he joined the 14th Reinforcements 1st Light Horse and went Egypt. While training in Egypt he volunteered for the artillery about April 1916 and joined the 39th Battery, l0th Brigade, and went to France, where he served until his death. He died of wounds in the 17th Casualty Clearing Station, France, on the 1st November, 1917, aged 21 years and 8 months. One of Australia's heroes.
