Biography contributed by Chris Buckley

Sergeant Warren Clarence Walton (Service No:WX21683) enlisted in the Army on 12 May 1942 with 62nd Corps Field Park Coy - Engine Artificer. He served in Borneo (23 May 1945 - 8 January 1946), where he was promoted to Sergeant on 28 September 1945, and was attached to 2nd/6th Field Coy RAE at Discharge on 22 February 1946.

Born in Snowtown, South Australia in 1912, Warren was fourth of six children of Albert Henry Blyth Walton (b1886 in Blyth, South Australia) and Agnes Jean Margaret Crystal Easton Fowler (b1879 in Edinburgh, Scotland) - Agnes immigrated in 1880, arriving in Adelaide SA on board the Soratta. Albert (a Farmer) and Agnes married in Adelaide in 1908, and lived there and in Snowtown, Barunga Gap and Percytown, where Albert was a Farmer. In the mid 1930s the family moved to Beverley, WA where Albert was a Farmer at Emu Hill, and later to Ardath via York.

Warren worked as a Farmer with his father in Emu Hill before settling in Kalgoorlie, where he was a Miner in 1939 when he married Kathleen Mary Farrell (b1916 in Collie, WA). Following his Discharge from the Army, Warren worked in Kalgoorlie as a Miner and Mine Superintendent until retirement in the early 1970s, when he settled in Perth. Warren died in 1977 and Kathleen in 2005.
