My grandfather was captured at Crete by the Germans whilst treating troops from North Africa. From there he was transported to Germany to treat TB patients until eventually repatriated. He was Mentioned in dispatches for his actions. He was also in 9th light horse WW1
He died 7 years after WW2 finished
