Roy Johnstone Colbey was the third child and oldest son of Charles Hammond and Annie Elizabeth (PRICE) COLBEY. He was born at Crafers and married in Western Australia to Norah Kate Byrne before they returned to South Australia with their son Guy Colbey.
Roy was living at Plympton Park when he joined the Australian Army Service Corps giving his age as 45 and his occupation as contract painter.
