The Lionel Winchester Story
Lionel was born at Edithburg SA in 1904 and was one of three brothers. He moved with his family to Port Adelaide in 1906.
He worked for BHP in Whyalla SA and during WW2 this was a reserved occupation.
Lionel was a good swimmer and lifesaver.
He was a smart dresser and also an excellent dancer and taught his nieces to dance.
He never married.
He was a loving gentle man and there was always great excitement when he visited his extended family.
