Private James William Edward Rogers (Service No:S71156) enlisted in the ACMF on 31 December 1941 and served with 5th Battalion VDC. Private Rogers was Discharged on 30 November 1945.
Born in 1910 at Eudunda, Tumby Bay in South Australia, Jim was the eldest of four children of William Rogers (b1888 in Adelaide, South Australia) and Grace Mary Darling (b1892 in Port Lincoln, South Australia). William (a Fisherman) and Grace married in 1910 in Tumby Bay, South Australia where they settled and raised their family.
Jim worked as a Shop Assistant at Ungarra in Tumby Bay and in 1934 in Hindmarsh, South Australia married Mavis Daphne Butler (b1910 in Moonta, South Australia). Jim and Mavis settled in Tumby Bay where Jim was a Store Manager and Grocer. Mavis died in 1986 and Jim in 1992.
