Corporal Ralph Allen Peterson (Service No:S69667) served in the ACMF with 3 Battalion VDC from 26 March 1942 to 3 November 1943.
Ralph was born in Stirling, Adelaide Hills, South Australia in 1897, fifth of nine children of Christian Peterson (b1863 in Kirke Helsinge, Denmark) and Ellen (Nell) Riley (b1867 in Stirling, Adelaide Hills, South Australia). Christian (a Labourer) and Nell married in 1888 in Adelaide, then settled at Stirling in the Adelaide Hills where they raised their family and Christan was a Labourer and Builder. In the early 1900s the family moved to Adelaide, where Christian was a Builder.
Ralph worked as a Typewriter and Adding Maching Mechanic in Adelaide where, in 1920 he married Daphne Gwynneth Mary Coulter (b1896 in Mt Magnet, Western Australia). Ralph and Daphne settled in Adelaide, where they raised their family and Ralph was a Typewriter Mechanic and later Director. Ralph died in 1976 and Daphne in 1992.
