Private Albert Edgar Horsell (Service No:S70267) served in the ACMF with 3rd Battalion VDC from 1 April 1942 to 8 November 1945.
Albert was born in Adelaide, South Australia in 1891, eldest of five children of Albert William Horsell (b1869 at Callington via Mt Barker, South Australia) and Janet Augusta Elder (b1868 in Burra, South Australia). Albert Snr and Janet married in 1890 in Adelaide, and settled in Black Forest in Adelaide, where they raised their family and Albert Snr worked as a Teamster and Storeman.
Albert was a Meter Reader for the SA Gas Coy in Adelaide where, in 1914, he married Mildred Isabel Mander (b1894 in Adelaide, South Australia). Mildred died in 1952 and Albert in 1981.
