On the 19th October 1963, the funeral was held at Newcastle Memorial Park, N.S.W. for Private (Signaller) Thomas John Henderson, 35th Battalion Headquarters (Reg No-1442), fireman from Church Street, Minmi, New South Wales and Hamilton, N.S.W., age 67 years? 6 months?. Ashes interred Newcastle Memorial Park, N.S.W., date and area unknown.

Born at Glasgow, Scotland possibly April? 1896 to Thomas, died? and Isabella Henderson, died? from Main Street, Minmi, New South Wales, Thomas enlisted on the 14th December 1915, stated age 19 years 8 months, at West Maitland, N.S.W.

Unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT A24 Benalla on the 1st May 1916.

Disembarked Plymouth, England 9.7.1916.

Proceeded O/Seas to France from Southampton, England 21.11.1916.

Wounded in action - 17.10.1917 (gas).

Granted leave to England from 22.1.1918 to 6.2.1918 and to France from 19.1.1919 to 10.2.1919.

Commenced return to Australia 11.5.1919.

Mr. Henderson’s name has also been inscribed on the Minmi St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church Roll of Honour, unveiled on the 9th May 1920, 46 names inscribed, 10 Fallen.
