Private Henry John Abel Vigar (Service No:S76586) served in the ACMF with 6 Battalion (BH) VDC from 22 February 1942 to 16 December 1942.

Henry was born at Nielia Gaari Station via Meninee, NSW in 1900, eldest of eleven children of Henry (Harry) Vigar (b1874 at Poonvaria, Darling River, NSW) and Florence Edith Lintiss Herbert (b1882 in Otago, New Zealand). Harry (a Labourer) and Florence married in Broken Hill in 1899, and lived at Nelia Gaarla Station, Comra Yards, Williba Station and in Broken Hill, where they raised their family and Harry was a Labourer. In the mid 1920s Harry and Florence settled at Lintissa Vale Station via Broken Hill - Harry was initially a Selector and later a Grazier.

Henry worked on Lintissa Vale Station as a Labourer, and in Broken Hill as a Furnaceman, Miner and Contractor (Tank Sinking). In 1953 he was allocated a block at Netly via Broken Hill in the Balranald Ballot. Henry died in 1971.
