Kevin Leonard Dungey was the third child of Clarence Bertram Dungey and Kathleen May (nee Symonds). He was born on 19 May1917 at Noarlunga, South Australia.
Kevin attended the University of Adelaide where he studied for his Bachelor of Arts degree and in January 1941 was appointed Head Teacher at the small South Hummocks primary school. In May 1941 he was transferred as a Junior Assistant at the Murray Bridge High School. The following year he was Junior Assistant at the Urrbrae Agricultural High School. In 1944 he attained his Diploma in Secondary Education and in 1954 was Senior Master at Naracoorte High School.
Kevin enlisted in the Australian Military Forces on 8 August 1940 with the service number S30893. His occupation was given as Student, His posting at discharge in January 1942 was the 105 General Hospital.
On 2 April 1942 Kevin married Shirley Jean (nee Wilson) at the Church of Christ in Cottonville (now absorbed into Westbourne Park, South Australia). Kevin and Shirley had three sons.
In May 1970 Kevin was Headmaster of the Adelaide Technical High School and the following year, he was invited to be a guest of the Army at the Royal Military College, Duntroon, along with another Headmaster from Adelaide.
Kevin Leonard Dungey died on 2 December 2002, aged 85 years. His wife, Shirley Jean, predeceased him, on 13 August 2002, aged 81 years, and both are buried at The Cemetery on the Hill, Old Noarlunga, South Australia.
