Son of Mrs Sarah Wynne Yorke BARRITT of "Mallara" 29 West Terrace, Kensington Gardens, SA and the late Mr. C.E. BARRITT of Mallara Station, Wentworth, NSW.  Educated at Wykeham School, Belair and St Peter's College Adelaide where he was house prefect.  Interested in tennis, he also represented his school in Intercollegiate football and athletics.  In civilian life he was employed by Elder, Smith & Co. Ltd. Adelaide.  He enlisted in June 1940 as a private, and was chosen to go to an officers' training school at Duntroon, and passed out as a Lieutenant on December 6th 1940.  Went through the first Tobruk campaign and died of wounds in Egypt on July 17, 1942.
