Lance Corporal Alwyn Jack Gully (Service No:S114924) enlisted in the ACMF on 7 October 1941 as a Private attached to 4 Service Training Battalion, and in 1944 was promoted to Lance Corporal attached to 39 Empolyment Coy. Lance Corporal Gully was Discharged on 8 December 1944.
Jack was born in Norwood, Adelaide, South Australia in 1922, fourth of six children of Rupert Lawrence Gully (b1893 in Adleiade, South Australia) and Mabel Annie Addicoat (b1888 in Kooringa, South Australia). Rupert and Mabel married in 1915 in Adelaide, where they settled and raised their family and Rupert was a Painter.
Jack was a Plumber in Adelaide, and in 1943 married Phyllis May Mitchell (b1920 in Adelaide, South Australia) - Phyllis was a Tailoress. Jack died in 1998 and Phyllis in 2010.
