Private Pauline Beatrice Walkley (Service No:SF113032) enlisted in the AWAS on 11 February 1943 - graded Clerk. Private Walkley served with 5 AWAS Training Depot and 3 and 4 Psychology Testing Sections, and was Discharged on 10 October 1944.

Pauline was born in Adelaide, South Australia in 1922, second of three children of Joseph Roy Walkley (b1890 in Hindmarsh, South Australia) and Ellen (Nell) May Clifford (b1891 in Adelaide, South Australia). Joseph and Nell married in 1920 in Adelaide, where they settled and raised their family and Joseph was a Bootmaker.

In 1943 Pauline was working as a Clerk in Adelaide when she enlisted in the AWAS, and in January 1945 in Adelaide married Brian Joseph Kain (1924 in Mannum, South Australia) - Brian, a Flight Sergeant in the RAAF (Service No:442516), died in Darwin in August that year. Pauline later remarried to Antoni Grzeskowiak (b1915 in Poland), and the couple settled in Adelaide where they raised their family. Antoni died in 1992 and Pauline died in 2015.
