Biography contributed by Chris Buckley

Younger of two brothers (William and Lloyd) who served in WWII, Private Lloyd Morris Hall (Service No:S112312) served in the ACMF with 3, 9 and 1 Infantry Training Battalions from 29 December 1941 to 11 January 1945 (Medically Unfit).

Lloyd was born in Marryatville, Adelaide, South Australia in 1910, second of four children of Albert (Bert) Frank Hall (b1887 in Magill, South Australia) and Stella Grace Mason (b1887 in Kingston, South Australia). Bert and Stella married in 1906 in Kensington, and settled in Adelaide where they raised their family and Bert worked as a Driver and Factory Hand.

Lloyd was working in Norwood as a Metal Finisher (roofing work with Wunderlich) in 1940 when he married Florence Louise Maude Farrant (b1913 in Adelaide, South Australia). Lloyd enlisted in the Army in 1941, and following his Discharge in January 1945, he and Florence divorced in November that year. Lloyd died in 1973.
