Leslie John Buckskin was born on 1 May 1911 in Point Pearce, South Australia, Australia, the son of John Buckskin and Ella Beatrice Wanganeen and the brother of Gordon Wanganeen [half], Laura Lydia (Buckskin) Agius, Dora Gertrude (Buckskin) Goldsmith, Francis Keith Buckskin, Thora Eliza Ann Buckskin, John Huntley Buckskin, Ross Mervyn Buckskin and Howard Lawrence Buckskin.
