Died on this date - 9th March........Private Norman George Peut was born at Normanton, North Queensland in 1888. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 16th November, 1917 as a 29 year old, single, Labourer from Sydney, NSW.

Private Peut travelled on the same ships & route as Private Flakelar (above) - travelled from Australia on HMAT Ulysses (A38) to Suez. He then travelled to Port Said, entraining through Italy & France then on to England on HMT Antrim.

Private Peut was posted to 1st Training Battalion at Sutton Veny, Wiltshire on 13th February, 1918. He was sent sick to Sutton Veny Hospital with Influenza on 3rd March, 1918 & admitted to the Military Hospital at Sutton Veny, Wiltshire on 4th March, 1918.
Private Norman George Peut died on 9th March, 1918 at the Military Hospital, Sutton Veny of “New growth. Malignant left bronchus”.

BOTH SOLDIERS WERE BURIED ON 13th September, 1918 in St. John the Evangelist Churchyard at Sutton Veny, Wiltshire, England where 139 other WW1 Australian Soldiers are buried as well as 2 Australian Nurses.
