Son of James Thomas Lilburne and Emma Lilburne nee Power of Birchip, Victoria. Brother of John Cunnningham Lilburne who returned to Australia on 31March 1919 having served with the 3rd Divisional Signal Company, Christina Muriel Lilburne, Cyril Leslie Power Lilburne, Robert Douglas Lilburne and Ivy Dorine Lilburne
