Sergeant John Vincent Brady (Service No:S47371) enlisted in the ACMF on 3 March 1941 as a Private attached to Australian Army Pay Corps (AAPC) - graded Clerk. Promoted to Sergeant in 1944, he was attached to District Accounts Office 4 MD at Discharge on 18 December 1946.

John was born Goodwood, Adelaide, South Australia in 1912, second of eight children of Michael Ignatius Brady (b1887 in Virginia, Adelaide, South Australia) and Ruby Catherine Hogg (b1886 in Burnside, Adelaide, South Australia). Michael (a Chemist) and Ruby married 1910 in Adelaide, where they settled and raised their family and Michael was a Chemist.

John was a Salesman in Glenelg in 1940 when he married Amy Edith Highman (b1906 in Adelaide, South Australia) - Amy was working as a Hairdresser in Glenelg. In 1941 when he enlisted in the Army, John gave his occupation as Manufacturer and, following his Discharge, he and Amy settled in Adelaide where they raised their family and John worked as a Clerk with the Commonwealth Department of Works. John died in 1960 and Amy in 1980.
