Private Casualty Advices
Advice has been received that Pte. R. L. Martin, son of Mrs. J. T. Martin, of Fern street, Davenport, Port Augusta, and the late Mr. Martin, was killed in action with the AMF in New Britain on March 6. Pte. Martin, who would have been 26 this week, was taught by correspondence school at Bookaloo for some
years and completed his schooling at Port Augusta. He entered the AMF in 1940 and was at Darwin with the 43rd Battalion for 18 months. Before enlisting he was employed on stations in the district and in the Commonwealth Railways. A brother, Pte. M. D. Martin, is serving in the same battalion.
