Son of Mrs. Wilhelmina M.M. and the late J.C. HOWARD of 20 Florence Street, Port Pirie, SA. Educated at Solomntown Public School and Port Pirie High School he was a keen follower of sport. A barman in civil life working at the International Hotel Port Pirie, Cyril enlisted in September 1940. His brother Ronald Graham HOWARD R.A.N. was accidently killed while on leave in Sydney.
