Son of Matthew O'Dwyer and Mary O'Dwyer nee Wade of Melbourne, Victoria.

Before enlisting Thomas had been a member of the Gordon Rifle Club. 

Husband of Myrtle Jessie Cole formerly O'Dwyer nee Bingham of Dalyston, Victoria. Thomas and Myrtle married during 1911c in Victoria. Father of Thomas Matthew O'Dwyer

Commenced return to Australia on 17 October 1916 aboard HT Ajana disembarking 8 December 1916
