Son of Herbert William and Lydia (nee Stevens) Bald.

Arch applied for the Soldier Settlement Scheme and unfortunately died days before his allocation notice was received in a road accident where he was hit by a drunk driver.

Widow Sues
Grace Bald, widow, of Kingscote, Kangaroo Island, sued Hubert Roy Waller, of Kingscote, KI for unspecified damages for the death of her husband. Archibald Herbert Bald, aged  42 in 1952. Suing for herself and four children, she alleged that on March 31, 1952, Waller negligently drove a motor truck on the Kingscote- Penneshaw road, colliding with a  motor car driven by Bald, who was fatally injured. Denying liability and negligence. Waller alleged negligence by Bald.
