Husband of Eleanor Isabel Uren nee Wells of Wilson Street, Newtown, NSW. James and Eleanor married at St. Peters, NSW during 1906c.
20 May 1918 - enlisted with the 6th General Service Reinforcements (NSW) with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.
26 August 1918 - transferred to the 34th Battalion
1 April 1919 - Promoted to Lieutenant
27 July 1919 - commenced return to Australia Aboard HT Valencia disembarking on 14 Septembet 1919
Medal _British War Medal
30 September 1919 - discharged at the 2nd Military District
Served in the Boer War with the 3rd NSW Mounted Rifles. Service number 1827 with rank of Trooper
