Biography
"CPL. P. TEESDALE SMITH.
A communication has been rewired from the military authorities by Mr. Teesdale Smith, of Mount Lofty, stating that His Majesty the King has approved of the award of the Distinguished Conduct Medal to his son, Cpl. Paul Teesdale Smith, for acts of gallantry and devotion to duty in the field. The award was made for "conspicuous and able leadership of his section and prompt initiative in occupying an important point during operations." Cpl. Teesdale Smith is the third son of Mr. Teesdale Smith, and before leaving for the front was articled to Sir Josiah Symon. He showed great promise in his profession, is a keen sportsman, and won the Point-to-Point Steeplechase in 1914." - from the Adelaide Register 05 Oct 1916 (nla.gov.au)
