John Clifford Claude Eagle

Cliff enlisted for service in WW2. He served overseas in Papua New Guinea and Bougainville. He was a Platoon Commander until the end of the war. After discharge from the war, Cliff returned to the Riverland and took up a soldier settler's fruit block at Loxton North.
Other occupations during his lifetime were working at the Loxton Flour Mill, semi-trailer driver, wood cutter, cinema projectionist and working on the Show Circuit. He also did a lot of volunteer work to assist the building of the Concordia Lutheran Church at Loxton.
Cliff particularly enjoyed cycling and tennis.
Many years later Cliff was forced to give up work because of poor circulation in his legs, which eventually resulted in him having both legs amputated.
He retired at Loxton, and leased the fruit block to his son.
Cliff passed away on 8th April 1994 aged 76. He is buried in the Loxton cemetery.
Cliff was survived by his wife Doreen and three children.
