Son of Mr and Mrs Thomas William ANDREWARTHA, of 9 Jellicoe Street, Solomontown, SA.  Educated at Solomontown Public School he was interested in tennis and cricket.  A butcher in civilian life, Alfred enlisted in the AMF in September 1940 and was on active service in Darwin.  He is the brother to LAC L.L. ANDREWARTHA, RAAF.
