Enlisting
My dad was Norman Edward Gerlach. To enlist into the army my dad had to lie when doing his sight test. As a teenager he had been hit by a car while riding his bicycle, he lost his eyesight in his left eye. He memorised the eye chart so that he could pass his physical.
