Robert Murray SABEY was one of seven children of John and Jessie (McBEATH) SABEY. He was born at Meningie, the second child and oldest son of the family.

After the war, he married Grace Winifred ANDERSON and they had three daughters.

He lived at Torrensville at the time of his death in 1952 and is buried at Centennial Park.
