Private Harold Leith Joraslafsky (Service No:SX34173) enlisted in the AIF on 22 March 1945 with 19 Infantry Training Battalion. On 14 April 1946 Private Joraslafsky was attached to 66 Infantry Battalion when he embarked with his Unit from Sydney for Kure, Japan as part of the British Commonwealth Occupation Force (BCOF). Private Joraslafsky embarked from Kure for Sydney NSW on board the Kanimbla, and was attached to 66 Infantry Battalion at Discharge on 9 October 1947.
Bon was born in Adelaide, South Australia in 1927, third of five children of Francis Otto Joraslafsky (b1900 in Kooringa via Burra, South Australia) and Muriel Mevina Mathan Lines (b1903 at Matta Flat via Kadina, South Australia). Francis (a Labourer) and Muriel married in 1923 in Adelaide, where they settled and raised their family and Francis was a Labourer and a Clerk. Francis served in WWII (Private; Service No:SX3467).
Bon was working in Adelaide as a Cabinetmaker in 1945 when he enlisted in the Army. Following his Discharge in 1947, Bon returned to Adelaide where, in 1951, he married Everill (Rill) Rosalie Walshe (b1925 in Ballarat, Victoria) - Rill was a Stenographer in Adelaide. Rill died in 2013 and Bon in 2021.
