DEATH OF BOER WAR
VETERAN
MELBOURNE, Monday
Major-General George Jameson Johnston, C.B., C.M.G., V.D., died at a private hospital today after a long illness, at the age of 80. He was a veteran of the Boer war, and also took part in the Gallipoli landing in World War I. In private life the General was
a director of a firm of furniture manufacturers at Fitzroy. He is survived by two sons and a daughter.
