Daniel Herschausen
Daniel James Herschausen was born on 4 January 1920 in Laura, South Australia. He joined the AIF on 23 October 1940. On 14 June 1940 he married Gladys Doreen (nee Forward).
His initial service was within Australia until on 17 September 1941 he was called up for full time duty.
He enlisted on 6 August 1943 and on 27 September 1943 he embarked from Brisbane aboard the 'Duntroon' arriving at Milne Bay on 7 October 1943. On 27 August 1944 he left Milne Bay to return to Australia.
He served as a Driver for the 2nd Australian Bulk Petroleum Storage Company, and was discharged on 2 May 1945.
